Masters Swimming
Welcome to South Whidbey Island Masters (S.W.I.M.) Our mission is to provide instruction, training and motivation to athletes age 18 and older. We have athletes who range in ability from beginner to national qualifier. Workouts are designed with all abilities in mind.
Joining Requirements: S.W.I.M. participants must be able to swim freestyle (crawl stroke) the length of the pool (25 yards) with side breathing.
Benefits:
- Fun and Friends: We are a great group of people who have a lot of fun together. Masters have the opportunity to compete in swim meets, open water swims, and post-meet outings.
- Fitness: Swimming is a great way to develop endurance and strength.
- Improved Swimming: Our coaches emphasize proper stroke technique along with interval training which is known to improve one’s level of fitness and stroke efficiency making you a faster swimmer.
Practice Times: ONLINE RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE
MORNING SESSIONS – Monday, Wednesday, and Friday @ 5:10AM – 6:20AM
EVENING SESSIONS – Tuesday and Thursday @ 6:30PM – 7:30PM

Please note: 10-Session Passes expire 12 months from the date of purchase. 10-Session users must sign in at the Island Athletic Club front desk for each session.
How to Join: Contact one of our SWIM coaches, Kristi Eager or John de Wit. They will gladly answer all of your questions. When you decide Masters is for you, visit www.islandathleticclub.com. Click on the “Book an Appointment” tab. Scroll down to the box in the middle of the page. Under the classes tab, find and select the Masters Swim session date and time you desire. You will be prompted to set up a profile and/or pay for the selected session. The coaches will have paperwork ready for you to sign when you arrive to your first session.
